Lingual braces work like traditional braces but are invisible. The brackets are fastened to the insides – or the “lingual” side – of your teeth and are hidden from view, so no one will know you are wearing them. Lingual braces straighten teeth within the same amount of time metal braces do and according to each patient’s individual need. Lingual braces are great for teens and adult professionals who would benefit from more confidence as a result of the invisibility of lingual braces while maintaining great dental health.
What can you eat? Dr. Georgaklis recommends for the first day or so, stick to soft foods. Avoid tough meats, hard breads, and raw vegetables. Before long, you’ll be able to eat most of your favorite foods again. But you’ll need to protect your orthodontic appliances when you eat for as long as you’re wearing braces.
This is a great alternative for people who are concerned about the look of braces and want straight teeth.
