Veneers FAQs | San Diego
I have chips from grinding my teeth. Am I a good candidate for porcelain veneers?
Yes, even with ground-down teeth, veneers can restore your teeth to appear they way they did originally — or even better. Veneers can also make your teeth look straighter in just 1 week!
Do you have to shave down my tooth?

If I want only 1 or 2 veneers can you match the shade of my other teeth?
Yes, Dr. George can match natural tooth color. We send patients to a local laboratory in San Diego for a professional shade evaluation by the ceramist who makes the veneer.
I have bleached my teeth many times, but they are never white enough for me. Are veneers a good option?
Yes, if bleaching does not lighten your teeth to the desired color, we can cover the tooth with a very thin veneer and give you a bright white smile.
Can you bleach my veneers?
Veneers cannot be bleached. The shade of porcelain veneers cannot be changed once they are cemented on your teeth. This is why it’s best to bleach your natural teeth, and then have your veneers made to match.
Are veneers strong and how often do I need to replace them?
Veneers are very strong. If you use them normally, they can last indefinitely. However, people who have damaged their natural teeth from grinding can just as easily damage veneers. In this case a night guard is always recommended.
